Primary healthcare services in the region have been disrupted and diseases are increasing. It is necessary to improve the health level of women, mothers, and children, who make up the most priority segment of society in terms of the need for healthcare services, and to provide family planning services to families within the framework of reproductive health services, as well as to deliver other maternal-child health services in cooperation with other health institutions, in accordance with the principles of preventive healthcare.
It has become essential to carry out health planning to meet the needs of internally displaced people. The Women's Health Center we have opened for this purpose will respond to the needs of pregnant women and women of childbearing age in this field.
Our center was opened in Atme, considering both its safety due to its proximity to the Turkish border and the fact that this region is very crowded due to the migrations it has received. Since there are more than 300 thousand people in the Atme region, it is estimated that there are approximately 5 thousand pregnant women periodically.
Currently, a team consisting of a midwife, nurse, and auxiliary staff has started providing services at our center. In the future, our center will also begin providing services to all areas of Atme through a mobile team.
As AID, we will continue to provide healthcare services in Syria and carry out new projects.
The main objectives of the primary healthcare services to be provided at the center are as follows: prevention of infections and diseases that may develop before and after pregnancy, preventing maternal and child deaths through early diagnosis and intervention, and providing necessary family planning.
