AID bind up the wounds of the earthquake in Nepal
26.01.2023

AID, which sent an emergency medical team to Nepal on the very same day the country was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25, 2015, continues to provide healthcare services in the country without slowing down.

After conducting a needs assessment, our team, which intensified its work in the city of Bhaktapur, home to 70,000 people, where 500 houses were destroyed in the earthquake, provided polyclinic services in the courtyard of the regional hospital and conducted mobile clinic work in the camps where residents gathered, at the request of the municipality in the first days after the disaster. With the arrival of our tent clinic in the region, our team began serving earthquake victims at the health center established in the city center, and continues its efforts to set up a clinic in the hospital courtyard as well.

Our team of 3 volunteer doctors is accompanied by local healthcare workers assigned by the municipality, as well as Bangladeshi and Nepali physicians from our partner organizations.
