Emergency Aid Campaign To Arakan
26.01.2023

For centuries, the Rohingya Muslims living under persecution and violence in Myanmar's Arakan (Rakhine) state have been subjected to massacres on numerous occasions. Muslim women were raped and thousands of Arakanese people were killed. Such events were repeated many times afterward. As a result of attacks by the Myanmar army, thousands of Muslims were killed again in 2012.

Later, as a result of the military violence and oppression that began in 2016, approximately 100 thousand people were forced to migrate. Thousands of people had to settle in the Kutupalong Camp, located in the Cox's Bazar region of Bangladesh, known as the worst camp in the world.

As a result of burned villages and oppression, approximately 30 thousand people were forced to relocate within Arakan. Arakanese Muslims who left their homes and took refuge in Bangladesh are struggling to survive in refugee camps.

Most recently, the conflicts in the Arakan region resumed with the 2017 Eid al-Adha. The Myanmar government and armed groups are massacring people in the region. The Rohingya, fleeing the massacre in which thousands were killed and tens of thousands were tortured, are being turned back at the border by the Bangladeshi police.

In Myanmar, more than 800 houses, mosques, Quran courses, madrasas, schools, and shops were burned down in 15 days, and nearly 40 villages were evacuated. Although the Bangladeshi government has tried to prevent refugees from entering, more than 30 thousand Muslims have entered Bangladesh illegally in the last few days. Approximately 70 thousand Muslims, unable to cross the border, are struggling to survive in mountainous areas.

Our teams that went to Arakan to help the Rohingya Muslims continue to deliver emergency medical assistance to those fleeing the massacre. Our teams are delivering emergency medical aid to Arakan, which is under massacre, and you too can help the oppressed people of Arakan with a donation.
